Congrats on the purchase! The only thing we are currently battling are the overpopulation of ticks in the area. I've been raking and mowing and cutting and spraying to cut the number down close to the house. Seems with the mild winter the little arachnids are out in droves and since we are in the woods we have seen a few on the dogs and on the kids who love to mess around in the woods.

on thursday, i refinished my favorite bench from the old house. i have one more to do. the porch wraps entirely around the house with an enclosed sun porch on the back of the house so i find multiple benches a necessity. that and i like the benches.... but a porch swing will also make a nice addition to the porch. here's a pic of the bench that i refinished on thursday. it sits on the side of the house:

I love your house and property. One thing I would do is switch the garage man door so it swings out, that way it would be harder to kick it in. Also, I would get a door without the glass in it, for the same reason. Heres a good website with a bunch of info www.garagejournal.com Do you have any shots looking from the house to the street? One last thing...I still have the factory workshop manual for 83 rx-7. It's yours if you pay for shipping.

Sweet FB and FC!

My buddy had an 85 GSL-SE, awesome car. Good combo of cars to own, 80's Mazda and Porsche.

Mine opens in too. I took some fencing/gate hardware and bolted it to the 2x4s on the inside and have a 2x4 sitting on it which goes across the door so it's harder to kick in.

i was considering doing the same thing, but using some 1/4" thick steel plating instead of 2x4's. 2x4's would be lightwe and probably would hold up well enough to do the job long enough for me to graba gun and head downstairs.
