Removing sub roof head liner
I need clearance for my helmet in my track car. Does anyone have any experience removing the plastic headliner without removing the sunroof itself? Do you just unscrew it or is there something more to it? Thanks.

Yes the sunroof needs to be removed to take it off, since the screws and rivets xsboost mentions are on the leading, trailing, and side edges of the panel.
That is, unless you just want to grab hold of it with some Vice-Grips and yank it off! Which, well, won't look too great.
Or maybe you need a good'ol Gurney Bubble!
Be safe, have a good evening!
Cheers

When I replaced my headliner (with a good conditioned used one) I just drilled out all of the plastic rivets, then went to autozone and bought some black plastic plugs. they fit perfectly, and they can be removed by unscrewing them.

Perfect. Before pulling things apart I wanted to know about someone else's experience. I can't open the sunroof as there is a roll bar in the way.
