Thanks for all the advice guys.

Vice grips didn't do it, so I'm going to get hold of some of the Irwin sockety widgets and try those

Strangely enough, the nipple clamps I just picked up from the place down the road don't seem to be helping at all... honestly don;t see how they'd be good for getting a grip on anything other than... hmmmm

You have to ask for the nipple clamps they keep in the basement. They're usually stocked next to the gimps.

Change them out for the upgraded rubber versions.

Main issue is the rubber ones dont quite feel the same when you lightly nibble on them... I realize technology in reproduction nipple production has come a long way, but IMHO nothing really beats the real thing!

Happy happy, joy joy!

Got them both shifted in a minute or so with the Bolt Grip sockets, using a tyre iron with a 1/2-inch to 3/8 adapter as a breaker bar - I'd totally recommend them to anyone with rounded off or stuck bolts

So you used a bolt grip socket, 2 adapters, and a tire iron to straighten out your nipples...

And she still talks to you?

Way to go!

Irwin Bolt Grips, like these:
Amazon Amazon

First time I've used them, so it's hardly a statistically significant result... but they did exactly what I wanted without any fuss.
