Any crack that extends to the edge of the rotor requires that the rotor be replaced.
Very unlikely you will find any sound advice that differs from that.

Brake pads FOUR IN A BOX??
Well, my set of El-Cheapo Chinese Rotors arrived. I bought two boxes of pads, since I was doing two wheels.
Since when do you get 4 brake pads in a box?
What's up with that? That's like $3.25 a pad. They say "Australia" on them. The rotors say "China".
Anyway, the total was $75.35 shipped (from 'partsgeek') but if I just got one box of pads it would have been $62.00 shipped. Whether or not it turns out to be a good value is yet to be determined.
As far as them being cast iron, well, all brake rotors are cast iron.

Yes, but brake rotors come in singles. I assumed you had to buy two boxes of brake pads to do both front wheels. I am surprised, especially since I must have bought brake pads at some point in the past.

It's assumed if only one rotor goes bad, and is replaced, that you at least turn the other one across from it, and put new pads on both. That is an acceptable situation.

Two boxes of brake pads -- and none of them fit! Turns out I ordered Turbo pads by mistake. D'oh!
I did get the rotor off:
A new rotor is 20.5mm. My 10-year old rotor: 19.7mm. And the crack looks to be a superficial surface crack although I can't tell for sure without wire-brushing away the rust.
So it might well have given a few more years service. Brake pads have plenty of material left.

Seriously?! That crack has been there a while, pieces of rotor alongside the crack have started coming off. It sure looks like the crack continues all the way into the center.

Lol how cheap can you be when come time to replace parts that your life & others migth depend on.I personally will NEVER NEVER replace one rotor at the time.Like Ross mention at least get the other one turn.Ten years old rotors plus a crack in it even if surperficial, your pushing your car maintenance to the extreme saying it migth have given you a couple more years service.

That rotor is completely shot. Even a superficial crack can cause the surface of the disk to further fracture and you risk either a braking lock up while driving along, or a complete brake failure on that wheel.
If you are replacing a failed, 10 year old rotor that looks that bad, I strongly suggest, as do the people above, that you replace both front rotors, or you will likely have uneven braking and pulling.

I do plan to do both rotors. Started with the cracked one. Kinda hoped to get one side done today but it was a massive pain getting the brake pads out. Those long pins were stuck in and it took vice grips combined with hammering to get them out.
And then the two caliper bolts were ultra-tight. Had to resort to the old jack-under-the-wrench technique.
The five bolts holding the rotor on came off nice and easy. I guess I used antiseize on them.
Yes, the top arrow does point to a crack. But there is no crack by the bottom arrow, that is just rust.

Still not sure if he's trolling. Brake pads have always come in sets of four (4) pads. No reason should brake pads be replaced in less than that, short of a defect found in brand new pads. And who does brakes and rotors on a car for $62 shipped? A sports car at that... I guess if you like gambling with your life and others, go right ahead.
I just ordered racing pads for my motorcycle. Not because I need them on my street ridden sport bike, but because I don't settle for less when it comes to safety. My life is worth more than $150 in brake pads.
