Default hit big pot hole in road causing car to cut out????

Evening chaps, just got run off the road by someone who clearly felt they needed both lanes, i hit a pretty deep hole in the road and my 82' n/a cut out and ground to a hault!! i looked around the engine bay, no signs of anything obvious! tried to restart and it fired up fine???

So dear rennlisters, what might cause a cut out when jolted?
i have an induction kit fitted and afm isnt braced properly yet, otherwise stock.

My 83 would cut out or stall every time I hit a large bump or braked really hard. Turned out to be the reference sensor plugs/receptacles behind the intake were so cracked electrical contact would be broken. I zip-tied them together and never had another problem. Same thing can happen with a loose ground, harness short, or failing DME.

Sounds electrical in nature of course. Shook something like the reference sensors as above or the DME or a distributor or something like that is where I would look first. The DME relay and the DME board itself. The boards sometimes have cracks and loose pins etc anyway so a jolt could certainly bring about troubles. Hall sensors if they are on your car can be another place to check. I would also closley look at the battery, battery mounts, cables too.

My car would cut out ended up being the fuse box. Check where the connectors connect on the bottom side, inside the car .

On my car the cracked plug was on the harness side, and failed to retain even a brand new speed sensor correctly. Double-check that yours are in good condtion.
