Are you talking about the blades that are like a single piece of metal/plastic versus the framed ones? If so, I tried those and they didn't work well on my car... they kept leaving a big unwiped spot right in the middle of their arc.
If you're talking about replacing the actual arms that hook in to the actuator, well, no, I haven't played with those.

I've seen this thread;

Here the OP takes an audi TT aero wiper and a gold blade to make a 944 aero wiper.
TT arm: 8N1 955 407D $41
Golf blade: 1J1 955 426B $14
There was no follow up re: the other side, but I assume it was done.
I've been thinking about this mod too - my wipers are getting tired, and I like the look.

I bought a pair of 968 arms, which have two springs instead of one and am using them with the newer style blade. With my old, tired 951 arms they would lift in the middle, particularly at speed, with the new arms it's all good.

It's funny that this post comes up right in the middle of trying to replace wipers. The single piece blades don't contact in the middle. The Rainex ones that I usually replace them with didn't have enough pressure on the blade because without the blade, the arm stopped at about 3/4" above the windshield. I re-bent the arm so it just touches the glass without the wiper and then put the blades back on and it was fine. There just wasn't enough pressure on the wiper arm.

Lol agree that wipers springs are not something you see very often on this forum but mine like to show off once in a while.May some day your springs will meet my springs & throw a a spring party.
