Default Shipping Saratoga Top?

Has anyone here shipped a Saratoga top? I need to ship a frameless power one and I'm worried it will break. Should I build a frame out of 1x2's and then put it in a box and plaster the outside with fragile stickers?

Find a box that the sunroof fits into snugly. Pack the sunroof between pieces of styrofoam sheets. Then get another box that is 6" bigger all the way around the first box. Build a 1x2 'box' out of wood to fit inside that box so no edges can get crushed. Pack the smaller box with the sunroof in it inside that larger box with more styrofoam sheets. Make sure it is packed well and there is NO movement inside the boxes. Tape it up and ship it. 'Fragile' stickers are worthless as most all boxes are processed by machines and they couldn't care less what the box says. And take pics of the packaging before you ship it to prove the condition of the packaging in case you have to file a claim for damages.

I would say royalschwarz has it down, with MAYBE the added addition of wrapping it in bubble or foam wrap before the styrofoam.

Of course, I am biased in this matter, haha.

i saw a new sticker yesterday that cracked me up. on every kitchen cabinet box it was printed "DO NOT THROW"

if use can get your hands on some big bubble wrap like the commercial stuff it would help normal bubble wrap would just pop if bumped hard IMO more you wrap it the better off you are

Just an update in case this turns up in a search or something:

I ended up taking it to the FedEx store and I had it professionally packed. The had to make a box. They packed it in about 6 inches of protective stuff on all sides. The end cost was $56.68 which I split with the buyer. If I had to do it again I would do it exacly the same way.
