Default Back from the body shop.

So about 3 weeks ago, I was driving to town to pick up a few things I needed for my move to Australia. 2 minutes out of town, a guy in a truck pulls straight out of a junction (in which I had right of way) and drives right across me. I managed to get away with relatively minor damage, but the timing (5 days before my flight) was more than a little unfortunate.

I took the car to my local panel beater, he gave me a quote for the repair and I then left my car with my mother so she could drop it off for the repairs. Now, 3 weeks later, here I am in Melbourne and I just got photos of my car sent to me. The repair is, IMO, perfect.

Here's a flickr album of the damage and the repair. I can't even tell anything happened.

I'm hopefully here for life, but we'll see how that works out. Right now, I'm here waiting to hear back from a few guys about work, so I'm here for the next few weeks at least.

Thanks! I'm with friends out in Maidstone at the moment. I can't lease my own place until I've found work, but the couch will do for the near future Hopefully I'll have news about work by Thursday and within the next 2 weeks I can go house hunting. Good times!

Yeah, it looks to be a super job. Only 350 euro, too, which the guy responsible paid for. Considering a new panel would've cost me 600-700 plus painting and fitting, I'm dead happy with it.

That is the only problem with these cars - they seem to be invisible to people in big trucks. I almost had some back into me the other day, and with my horn out of service, I resorted to screaming at the top of my lungs.

Car looks great and you look excited to have it back. Good luck.

That is, thankfully, not me in the car. It's my old man, posing while my mother takes the photos. He does look about as happy as I feel, though.

Are you importing that into OZ? Let us know how smoothly that goes. I have been toying with the idea of moving my LHD US delivered 951 back to Perth if I head back in the future.
