Don't really understand when your saying that they won't stay in one place,did you remove them & are trying to reinstall.Very hard to say what has to be done without seeing pics.

What I mean is that when you turn the blower on high the air makes the vents turn to a different direction. I can turn them back but as soon as I hit a bump in the road they move again.

Same thing on my '87 n/a. They always turn to blow right in my face. I cleaned them up when I removed my gauge pod hoping that getting all the dust out would help. They don't work any better, but they look better.
I'd be interested in hearing about any cheap fixes.

Put a little piece of paper/cardboard in between the vent and frame, to hold it? Our Buick Rendezvous had the same problem, fixed with a little cardboard lol
