What is a rear upper tie bar? The only thing that resembles a "tie bar" at the rear is the sway bar drop link. Is that what you mean?

You will have to fabricate mounts and attach them to the body. Our cars aren't set up to run a rear stress bar.

944's don't suffer from rear flex as they use torsion bars not struts at the rear. Even if you remove the torsion bars and fit coilovers, the tops mount to the chassis rails and are not going anywhere.

Plenty of race history on 944's with no bracing there.

yeah no strut braces to attach to- but that being said a bolt in rear rollbar does stiffen the car substantially.

This is a good time to ask what problem you're solving for. You seem to have something specific in mind.

If it stiffness you're after, there's no denying that even a bolt-in roll bar adds a considerable amount, as Dan says.
