Default Crank Pulley Removal

I am replacing my timing belts and water pump and cant seem to get the crank pulley off. I got the bolt out but the gears wont move except for the forward most one. I tried a prybard behind it but didnt put much force into it because I was afraid of breaking the rear timing cover.

Smack it with a hammer (rubber mallet or put a block of pine between the hammer and the gear) to make sure that it's not slightly crooked. Sounds counter-intuitive to be hammering the gear on, but definitely worth a try. And maybe some penetrating fluid.

Invest in a puller. I use mine every time I mess with anything on the front side of the engine. Indispensable tool! And you have of course sprayed penetrating fluid in there, right?

And once you get the pulleys off, clean them and teh nose of the crank up before putting it back together... the pulles should slide on and off, but years of neglect have allowed corrosion to build up!

I always clean them up, and rarely have a problem pulling them back off!

Thanks I got it off.
Last night before posting on here I tried hitting it with a block of wood and a hammer and it still wouldn't budge so I gave up. This morning i walk out the the garage to spray some PB Blaster on it and I figures I would try one more time pulling it off with my hands. Well I pulled back as hard as I could and it came right off and I nearly fell backward from pulling too hard.
