Default Wire My Own Window Switches?

2 out of the 3 window switches crapped out on me, the contacts inside are just worn away and no longer make good contact or move smoothly.

rather then buying the same oem switched wich i hated to begin with. any idea if i could wire my own new switches for passenger and driver windows?

i am capable of wiring and such as well as making a diff piece for them to sit in on the door.

anyone ever done this or anyone have an idea how i would go about wiring this.

i thought about it seems a bit confusing the way the stock switch is set up with so many wires (old technology) i figured it would be one 2 wires up 2 wires down none is neutral.

anyone with help or idea let me know

Remember, some of those wires are for the back-light... I think it's just a double throw, double pole momentary.

I have some used ones, if you're interested.

Don't forget to relocate them to the center.

I've managed to repair quite a few. Reasonably easy to take apart if you feel capable, just be careful with all the springs and removing the plastic rocker as the tabs are fragile. Cleaned mine up with contact electrical cleaner and they worked like new again.

Fitting blanks in the doors and extending the wiring to the center console is something I've thought about.

if you have switch blanks on your console, you could use 2 spare sunroof switches (they have up, down and neutral positions) and just run wire through the dash and the door accordions. they have a bunch of wires also though, but not too complicated. i used a sunroof switch to control a power lock setup i added to my early car.
