FWIW, Sunset has the same foam piece for ~$42.00. I'm just saying this for reference in case someone else is interested in changing this piece. I did last winter when I rebuilt the torque tube.

I've done it through the hole too. I spray the areas down where the isolator goes with a spray silicone lubricant to make it easier to move around.

What I haven't been able to do is remove one through the hole in one piece.

I have done it more than once!
Does anyone have instructions for stuffing the factory foam piece in through the shifter portal - I have a 5 speed and had some upgrades done (Han's shifter) and the foam was removed. I want to get back the factory look - plus the foam should decrease some of the heat transfer. I'd appreciate any help if anyone can lend it - I know this is an old thread - but I didn't want to start a new one.
