I did this on a prior car (not a 944). Saved 40 pounds between the structure and panel. Bad news is that it was a PITA, as I ended up not cutting the whole roof out. If I were to do it again, I'd cut it in the drip rails and remove teh windshield to cut it in there. Luckily, the 944 setup isn't as big and heavy as my other car.

And I would only do this on a track car, BTW.

I took out the interior panel, changed the motor to manual latches and kinda like the idea of one more way to get out of the car in an emergency on a dedicated DE car.

Ditto the guys who say drop a lid from the delete car on it. Chop it at the posts.
