Default Gear oil

Today I realized my transmission feels better when it's cold, probably something more serious, but for now I need some new oil. What do you guys recommend? Yes I searched, and like many things I found people say each of the 500 different brands they bought was the best thing ever. It's for an 87 turbo without LSD

Thanks

I just installed Redline 75W90 NS GL-5 in my NOR LSD and it works great in all temps, so you might try the non-NS variety.

+1, We ran Swepco products in our ITB cars which showed a very noticeable increase in component life on wheel bearings and final drive assemblies.

I had one bad experience involving Redline and a final drive unit. Can't prove it was the product, but there was enough coincidence to shy me away.

However, I'm currently running Mobil1 until the next change. Because I had some on the shelf and was impatient at the time. It doesn't seem bad although I've notice a little drag between some gear changes.

Amsoil! Do it right the first time. You can also Google for oil tests comparisons if You feel the internet is a viable source of info, but then why else would you be here.

I used Mobile 1 last time when I did it. Poured out dirty and icky..don't think it had ever been done on my 87' 951 Non LSD. After filling with Mobile1 it felt like brand new and was pretty amazed by the difference in feel.

I may have an LSD go in someday, does anyone recommend a specific brand for the LSD units?

I most definitely noticed a difference with Swepco. The guys at Midwest Euro-sport, here in Chicago, told me it was the wrong brand to use for 944/951...hmmm. They know their **** so I'm confused...said it was more for 911s? I have it in my N/A but was going to also put in my 951..

+1 for Redline MT90, used it for years and happy with it. Swepco is also a good choice.

Finally getting around to updating haha. I don't really notice a difference except for the fact that I now have the ability to grind(sometimes) when rolling and shifting into 1st.

I believe what was in there was mobil 1 and had only been for a few thousand miles, but it sure was dirty! Picture shows what came out and what went in. That swepco stuff is thickkkkkkkkk

EDIT: Please ignore the wheels, just having some fun with glass chalk
