Default 944 CGT Style Project Sketch

Hope the image works this time! I have been meaning to put up a quick sketch of what my 83 should look like when I am done with it eventually. It might look ricey to some people but In the FL heat Id like to cool that 2.5 as much as I can. Broadfoot fenders and a GT3 Flag on the side will make nice touches. I will need some massive wheel spacers so I dont have to get new rims..I like my phonies!

I pretty much have a parts list of what I still need to finish the job, if you have anything better than what I list let me know!

-Sport bar for 6 point
-Recaro seats
-Broadfoot/GT racing 968 fenders
-LR P2 or P3 rims (WHAT SIZES TO GET?!)
-Oil Cooler (will mount on passenger side so air is fed through scoop if it will work physics wise)
-headlight duct for Maf trap
-Custom air intake
-Hood scoop and louvers on hood
-CGT front bumper
-Possibly new headers
-eccentric bolt adjustment
-Euro spec lights
-new speakers

Hope you guys like it! Please comment

Looks cool. Keep it up and I hope it comes out just like you want.

I wish I continued to draw.

Kevin,

Great design.......looks almost like if Porsche was re-releasing the 944/951 in 2014...I am also I really digging the louvered hood.....I have been kicking around the idea of having a street rod shop do that to my 951.

Below is my car currently.....and what it will eventually look like (or the inspiration) for what it will look like in the second photo in a couple of years after I am finished driving it and convert it into a track beast with a LS motor.....so I really dig the your interpretation / transformation.

Scott,

I am in love with your reference photo! That is almost exactly what I have in mind. I love the fenders. I was thinking about doing a supercharged LS conversion sometime when I have the cash. I know for me to get the car I want I will probably end up dumping 30K into it, but It will beat Ferraris that cost 10 times that amount. Just wish someone made some sick looking rear diffusors for our cars. If my dream comes true to own my own Chip Foose style shop I will for sure make some parts for 944s

Good luck and keep us posted. I think though with the style you have in mind your concept will outgrow phonies.

Cool drawing

If I can ever get my hands on some GT3 5 spokes I would change my wheels out in a heartbeat. The modifications will continue after I get back home in December

If you change the suspension to late offset you should get away wil your phonies fitting nicely inside those Broadfoot fenders without spacers. Otherwise those LR P2/P3 wheels on your list are available in early offset with any width you want, so again no spacers needed.

I agree. With my 86 early offset car I only needed 1" spacers for my antera wheels for the rear.

It's your car....go for it and make it into what you want!

IMHO though I'm not a big fan of the non functional body moulding / cladding on the sides. It seems to me that Porsche has always tried to stay away from purely cosmetic / non functional styling bits and pieces that are purely "eye candy". Form follows function. Just my $.02.

im of this mind but even the functional stuff needs to look good. The lindsey racing header is very functional but it looks horrible. Its like a woman with a hot body and has a horrible looking face. Deal Breaker

if you mean the flares, those are functional... they hide larger rubber... and they were factory on the 924 CGT

No, love the fender flares. I'd love to put a set of those on my car some day with larger rubber. I was talking about the grey cladding on the doors and the rear flares in the sketch. Unless they are intended to be decals etc.

I think I would prefer the Deusche-nine hood vents to those that run down the center of the hood. Especially if you make them fit as good as these, they look factory:
