Alan, thanks for the reply. I will poke around the 928 board and see if I can get someone local to you for measurement purposes. Michael

the head light motor Assembly weighed in at 115g around 7lb and the new brackets are only 5.2g

im happy thx

Thanks guys for all your positive feedback. Glad they are working well for you. I'm thinking about ordering another run of the updated design. Anyone else interested?

I've got six sets of the original design left. I have them up on eBay now. If anyone's interested, please pick up a set there. They are $80 Buy It Now, with free shipping. Here's a link:

I am still interested, just haven't gotten around to doing the euro driving light conversion yet. I want to see if those will suffice as headlights for me. If they do, then I would pick up a set of your brackets for "emergency" headlight use so I can delete the motor.

Cool. FWIW, I've driven a car with the euro driving lights only at night, and they work well (plenty of light). The only issue I had was cresting a hill at high speed and not knowing there was a hairpin turn right after. Thanks Porsche for the excellent brakes! That's where having headlights mounted up high are better than just using the driving lights.

This is very cool. How much weight reduction do you think it does? I've never removed my headlight motor and etc... I have no idea how much it actually weight.

And to think that I'm going to *add* another head light motor to my car! I'm adding the drivers side 914 head light motor so I can delete the head light bar for more room for my intake on the LS1. A little additional weight doesn't matter so much...

That sounds like a cool idea. Please post pics when you get that installed. I was looking at the pic in your sig before wondering how you fit the intake tube through that tight spot.
