radio cuts out when I engage the clutch?
Any thoughts on this problem? When I engage the clutch, the radio turns off. I had hoped for a pinched wire, but cannot see anything. It happens in the first 1/2 inch of travel on the clutch. I notice there is an electrical switch tied to the clutch pedal - what does it do? Could it be the problem?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what that wire does, but have you ever cleaned your grounds? I cleaned mine up and other things started working that didn't before, such as the light for the parking brake.

Part of the function of the switch on the clutch is to disengage the cruise control when the pedal is depressed. There is no function related to the radio in a "normal" car. Now, a PO may have wired the radio in any number of idiotic ways that may make abnormal operation normal.
How butchered is the radio wiring?

OK, first find out of it's related to the switch or the pedal.
Press the clutch: radio should go off.
With clutch pedal pressed, use your finger to press the switch.
If radio does not come on, (and you should hope this is the case) => mechanical problem related to clutch pedal pulling on some wiring. Re-route the wiring. Problem solved.
If radio comes on => electrical problem. I don't know even where to start. Maybe a short. You could pull the radio and probe each of the pins and see which one changes when you press the clutch pedal. Trace that one back to the fuse box or just re-run the wire.
Good luck!
