and yeah that will work, you can make your own maf trap with fiberglass pre-made sheets.
Ill give that a try when I have the time and the $ to do that, guess I will be getting rid of the Hood scoop then unless anyone else can tell me another use for it??

see, i think the scoop, header panel, black stone guards and even US bumpers look spectacularly 80s on a guards red car... and in a good way! sometimes i wish i could make my car more 80s... but no, my car came out the year achy breaky heart came out... yeah...

the 924cgt only had the scoop for the intercooler. its not very functional otherwise though im unsure why porsche decided to keep it for the cgts and r cars when they had switched to a fmic. maybe it had a cooling effect on the hotside that the NACA duct on the turbo had?

ive seen racecar cgt replicas that had fmic's and they'd put an oil cooler under the scoop instead.

i did have a scoop that i was going to put on my 924 turbo cgt replica but after i sold the car i sold the intercooler and scoop separately. I decided not to keep the scoop for my 944. i did get a cgts front put on it though.

i'd love to have a ITB intake setup but i don't want to commit to something like that with this car. the miller maf though as been on my shopping list for a year now. will hopefully do it next year.

Im thinking about mounting the scoop in the original CGT location and fitting an oil cooler in that area, could be beneficial in summer florida. Ill pipe the intake with a miller maf and cone filter with a maf trap and headlight duct.
My goal is to get the most out of this engine reasonably, and creatively. Most out of the car generally.

that isn't a great place for an oil cooler as it will heatsoak pretty quickly...there is tons of room up front for a HUGE cooler or several smaller ones

also, the headlight duct isn't really useful for intake. looks really cool though, i have to say, but the standard induction area is better.
