Default Bigger turbo - any percautions???

Hey guys, I've got my hands on a bigger turbocharger (27/8) that I can't wait to put in, but I'm a bit concerned if it will not do any damage to my car if for the moment I don't have other upgrades such as bigger injectors, bigger intercooler, MAF etc. the only upgrade I have is a 3" exhaust.
What are your thoughts?

Thoughts? I think you need to do you home work or you will be selling your car to Lart

Chips, Injectors,

If you want to do it in one swoop buy M tune and get the chips injectors and MAF all in one package $1400 run as high of boost as you want.

Depends on what boost you are going to be running.
If you just swap out your turbo for this one, then you will have more turbo lag and your car will seem slower over all.
Your 3" exhaust is a big help though.

To put it in another words - I know what other upgrades I need, I just want to find out if it's an "ok" idea to put this turbo in now or to wait until I'll have budget for the remaining upgrades?

Wait. If your boost spikes for some reason, that turbo is caPable of quite a bit more boost than your stocker, and all it could take is one split second. Then you will either be posting a FS, parting, or WTB thread.

Wait and do everything at one tIke, the proper way.

I was seriously happy last year with my autothority chip + my shimmed wastegate + LR boost enhancer last year. This was an easy non expensive setup, but I went to the dark expensive way with Vitesse MAF Kit + 83lbs injectors, Vitesse Stage 1 Turbo and etc....Because I was running to lean with this setup. There's thing in life where you just need to trust a good experience mechanic. even after paying 200$ more. than competion, And John from Vitesse is your man. Support, innovation, customer service and so on. John will always be there for you, email, phone, whatever, he knows is stuff.

Thats the problem with these cars, you always want more. Always.

My present 951 is my 3rd porsche.

I've learned alot with my early 924S & 944 (early years) two years ago, but seriously, if I would start playing with a 951 all over again, I would definately pay more for it, and get an already modify 951, upgraded. You can buy a good stock 951 on ebay for 6K. And you can also buy a modified 951 for 6-7K with over 20K in piece in it.

Good luck in your search.

People spend a lot of $ on these, it's just an addiction, and the value of the car never goes up after putting all of these.

I don't consider myself a ''sucker''. I always do my research bef
ore bringing my 951 to my mechanic, on jobs that are to much of a hassle for me (a non mechanic guy whos learning).

But again, I would't trade my car for a million year.

I just love it. Even if I always have problem.

This is whats fun about these cars, Research, Experience, And amazing passionate people to help you out on Rennlist.

Anyway, I'm tired, it's 6am, been working since 8am yesterday. I need to sleep and let go this website.

Good night everybody.
