Getting ready to install a rebuilt unit from 944online. It's definitely different than what I was running (currently have a metal impeller vs the rebuilt unit with a plastic impeller). Hope it works out and I've never felt less confident in any maintenance project than what I'm in the middle of doing.

Haven't heard anything bad about the plastic impellers. Every Zims waterpump I have bought has not had a plastic impeller.

Plastic? I'm not sure that I would want a plastic impeller on my water pump. Somewhere in there the plastic is contacting steel - at least I HOPE the shaft is still steel. I'd be afraid of that plastic/steel bond failing due to the conditions seen by a water pump strapped to the front of an engine.

944online for my waterpump.

I'm a big fan of the kit, it saved my behind and my oil cooler with a complete kit. Been a year, not one issue. Not one drop of coolant. Not one drop of oil.

Zim's rebuilt, bought in 1992. Has over 140K/mi on it. Nuff said.
