So I just bought a Guards Red 951....and the paint, in a few areas, was sun-faded/oxidized. I did a little research and thought I'd share my personal results. I bought Meguiars Ultra-Cut Compound at PepBoys...$40.00. I applied by hand with a foam applicator....my car is now uniformly bright red. I tested on a spare fender...I think the photo speaks for itself. It does take a little elbow grease but..yeah, worth it.

Yeah...I was looking into Porter-Cable but wanted to try it by hand first. It wasnt easy....but didnt think it would be worth it to use just once or twice.
My car looks great..

It will take an entire weekend without an orbital polisher..just so you know. Your whole car looks like it needs to be gone over....my car is a pretty deep red now.
Also...dont buy the cheap ****...it takes 3 times as long.

FYI...It takes a very thin layer of paint off. Dont be alarmed when your applicator turns red...and be careful on sharp edges...dont want to take too much off. It's clear coat safe..

Did he polish and wax it afterward? I did mine a month ago and it still looks great. I'm also using Wolfgang paint sealant...which is like $45.00.
