Sounds like he read the brochure several times haha.

Wait a quick second here...how does anybody know if the other pcar driver is ignoring you when you wave? Half the time I hear the porsche drive by and see it in my rear-view; by that time it's too late and I regret I didn't get to wave at him.

But I tend not to wave at newer pcars, definitely not the suv....it's a waste of time. Sometimes I give a nice little double honk, just to get their attention, if it's an older pcar or obviously another 944, 928, etc... The people in these cars usually seem to appreciate the acknowledgement and wave back.

And I don't care what condition it's in because it doesn't matter. porsche people relate on a level that is universal.

But not if we're driving our Cayennes? Just because a lot - or perhaps even the majority - of P!g owners aren't P-Car people doesn't mean we all aren't. I saw a good number of Cayennes at Hershey last spring, and a nice lady at the local PCA region driving a beautiful 911 told me the Cayenne was her next Porsche. Sometimes a man's got to take his family (and dog and luggage and every daggone thing) with him.

Cayenne represent!

I find the reactions of non porsche owners the most amusing. Several times in the past 3 years Ive been lusting over some expensive toy or another and had someone...friend, coworker, etc...suggest..."well you could sell your porsche"....The shock when I explain that the $3-5k Id get wouldnt be worth it to me.....priceless. Ive actually helped 4 guys buy '44s after "wow that car must have set you back" comments. Of course I am always kind and explain that...."its not the purchase price that hits your pocket....its the maintenance payments"

Speaking of which....Ive got to go spend $50 on a headlight switch

Cayenne is pretty likely my next Porsche. It is also the most sold model at our dealer here in Houston .

Yep I have to spend $250 on a fog light and another $100 on rear markers today.

Did I say it costs like a Real Porsche.

I could have had a 911 by now LOL.

After I hit send I was about to place the order.....but....
I decided to open the switch and have a peek inside....having already cleaned the terminals to no luck. $50 saved....internal contacts were completely carbon fouled. light sanding and a bit of conductive lube....and a huge PITA trying to get the "switch bearing" to stay in place while holding 3 contact plates with a total of 9 skinny little springs beneath them...and snapping the switch base in place...
Damn I should have taken pics.....popped it into the car and "LET THERE BE LIGHT"

Thought it would warm your hearts. I went to same club and a man in a boxster s drove over, out of his way to chat about Porsches. There are 2 types of Porsche owners. Those who buy the brand and enthusiasts.

you know, thats pretty sad. you would think that more P-car owners would be enthusiasts and would give a fellow P-car owner the common courtesy of a wave in return. when i owned a Corvette from 09-10, every, and i mean every other Vette owner that i passed and waved to waved back.

I actually had a lady in a 997 wave at me and give me a thumbs up while waiting at a stop light in my 951. I just rolled my eyes back at her. Just kidding, I waved back.

Ha! You had me there VT..
Yes Mazda, we "hatchback" owners do seem a special breed...

So far, I've gotten (and given) Thumbs Up from/to older RX7's, XJ6's, and E30's...

Since this be a 944 technical forum, I will insert that each of those Thumbers' cars have the appropriate axle driven..

When scheduling a patient for her follow up appointments I told her that I would have to use an associate to finish her final 3 sessions as I would be going on vacation in 2 weeks. We got around to where I was going and how I was getting there, I told her it would be between my SUV and my Porsche, and there would be a huge fuel bill discrepancy between the two. She readily assumed the SUV would get much better mileage than the P-car...
