my cupholder: right in the crotch baby.

i love not having cupholders. I love the look on people's faces when they're told there aren't any. hell, my door doesn't even have armrests. the driver drives and the passenger holds a torch and a map. to warn the driver of upcoming changes

Yummmm.........I miss Tim Hortons.

When you have the arm rest one, where do you put your arm? Cause that's where my elbow goes and I could just see me knocking everything out of there.

Looking at that Pelican thread, I really like the simplicity and location of this one. I may try my hand at fabricating one similar to this, but with a taller cylinder to hold the cup from tipping instead of just a thin ring.

I have received a couple of emails asking for the website I purchased my BMW cup holder from.

http://www.leatherz.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc

I did notice that currently they do not have any available but send them and message and maybe they will get some in. Just another note this was not an inexpensive item - just letting you know.

If you search the interent you want all three pieces that are in the picture attached. You want #11, #10 and the piece between the #5 and #9. That last piece is the one you have to cut a part of it off to get it to fit under the edge of our console. That also gets one screw to secure it and there are 2 small screws that hold #10 (the bracket cover) to the bracket.

I did notice when I first searched that there are some suppliers that have a replacement cup holder only and not the mounting bracket and cover. You want to search the BMW 6 series cup holder.

I just want to hold a stainless Porsche coffee mug thingy. I am not worth anything in the morning without COFFEE. Hot coffee that is. The between the legs can get warm. Or worse if there is a spill. .

Mine is not a daily driver or anything. I have plenty of room in the truck console.

The P is just a Sunday spinner .

Boobies

I will take it. But she has to be ready to go at 0430. And hang out when I dont need her. Oh and my coffee is hot with sugar and coffee mate early. If it spills it could be ... err.. a little loud and messy. LOL!

here is what I did to that cup holder, I added a small piece of flat bar stock and it slides up under the console and does not affect the passenger seat or comfort. got it at WallMart for $7, made 2 more for friends

I, too would be interested in this. I can't count the times I've been taking something apart inside the car and decided that I should put the screws in the ashtray for safe-keeping, only to be reminded later that the ashtray has to be removed, inverted, shaken and cussed at in order to get anything out of it....

As for the cup holder... I want one so very badly, but not having one keeps me from bringing coffee into my car.. which has (mostly) stain-free linen carpet. I'm just so afraid that if I add a cup holder, I'm just inviting stains..

Mind me asking the details on your headunit? Also which shift boot is that? I like the look of the leather.

I wish I could help you but that's not my car. I pulled that picture off the Pelican thread mentioned further up...

you guys dont need cup holders, you need one of these:

and an empty fixed back seat on the passenger side:

the bottle rolls around a little but never leaves the seat. if my wife is with me she puts the bottle between the console and her purse on the passenger side floor board.
