Default HELP FOR FIRST TIMER

My first time changing belts. Mine sounds more like a buzzsaw now. So how do you know "what's TOO much tension whine" vs. "oh it'll go away in 200 miles or so"?

Somebody please tell me if if that sounds too tight or not. I just took down the cover and things don't look too tight at all.

(Oh and I know there's a vacuum leak - I broke the brake booster check valve putting the airbox back in.)

just back alittle tension off the balance belt- ive done it while running before but i wouldnt recommend it. They do whine even w/ new rollers sometimes when too tight, but when the belt stretches it usually goes away.

Yep ease off the BB tension a little. Mine wasn't that bad and it went away. That being said when the car has the rare chance to sit up for several days inside the belt wine comes back a little until warmed up.

Anyway yes yours are a little too tight.

I backed it off a little. What a difference. I took another video. There's a little whine but barely. I'll post it later but definitively a "do this" "don't do this" comparison. Thanks for the help.
