I wanted to build a rally inspired 924 as a daily driver but it wasn't in the cards. Maybe someday:

Sorry guys I haven't posted much because there hasn't been all that much progress. The engine is ready to go back in, its just sitting on an engine stand all assembled. We moved our shop to a new location (i.e. not our garage) and we have a lift and some decent space now.

The main hickup was the fact that we inherited two new road race cars, an E36 M3 and an E30 M3 on top of blowing up the S14 motor in our other E30 M3. We had to rebuild that engine quickly to get it ready for the next event and just haven't had the time to drop the 944 motor back in the chassis.

We did finish up installing the updated water pump, new timing belt, deleting the balance shafts and belt, and re-tapping lots of threaded holes on the engine that had been stripped by the previous owner(s).

It's been so long since we disassembled everything we are hoping we don't forget where all the tiny vacuum lines connect. When I do get the motor dropped back in I will post an update.
