Radiator repair shop in Sacramento, CA?
Hi guys,
My kids car is driving me nuts. It's been overheating since I've replaced therm, wp, tb's and oil seals, and all I've found is a leak in the upper driver's side radiator seam between tank and core with pressure test. I'm hoping losing fluid here is what is causing the overheating. Can anyone recommend a shop in Sac, CA that can fix these types of radiators? I used to use Reseda Radiator in SoCaL for a Mercedes I had that ate radiators, but I'd rather not have to ship it there if possible.
Thanks, Dennis

under what conditions is it overheating? driving normally or sitting still?
regarding your leak, there's not much to do besides replace the o-ring that goes between endtank and core, or just replace the radiator...they are about $300 new and can be swapped in about a half hour.

Dennis-I've used this shop twice over the years. Once on my my son's BMW with plastic side tanks and on my truck. It's best if you can take them the radiator, it saves time and money. I remember you from that Sierra 'slow poke' run you made with some of us 944 owners

Thanks Steve! Yeah that was a fun run, ice and all! I'll give these guys a call. I've found a new BEHR at CarParts.com for 179.00, was just about to pull the trigger on that, but will call Rad Express. Reseda Radiator said they can't get parts, but he does fix 928's still.
Spencer - reverheating, I can drive the car in the cool morning, thermostat opens at the halfway mark on the gauge, but then the temps slowly climb to the 3/4 mark. I park it at this point as my morning commute is only 20 miles, I've not taken it on an extended drive yet. Then, commute home in the afternoon, climbs to the 3/4 mark more quickly, then slightly above, get it home and let it idle in the driveway and it just stays high and pushes coolant out the tank. My hope is it is losing enough coolant on the drive and sucking air into engine and over heating.
