1985 early auto

Ok,going to change the dampler(Flexplate) tomorrow(YAAA)I got a new one,I have the transmission out,what a beast(Auto with cooler)my ? is I have the TT loose and want to slide it back,is there anything connected with a auto transmission that I need to undo besides the 4 bolts,plus part of the transmission is still connected to the tt in the back,I only see thing on manuel,also do i need something to hold the motor as I take off the screws for the dampler(Flexplate),This is my first time doing anything like this,not that bad so far,hope to get it in tomorrow.Thanks

How is part of the transmission still attached if the transmission is out?

..lol......I guess its the houseing, 4 bolts and 2 on top, I took off the 3 screws threw the transmission by turning the motor in the front lowered the jack and it came down, but the tt is still connected in the rear, The plate with the 3 screws is still there, did not come down with transmission.

now im getting frustrated, ttube will not slide back,something is holding it, top driver side housing bolt giving me problems, tranny fluid all over garage...uhhhhhh.

Ok,I read this for the automatics,
You must remove the starter and unbolt the dampner from the flywheel
Then pull the TT and Bell housing back as a unit.
Then loosen the pinch bolt on the rear of the dampner.
Finally remove the clip in front of the dampner.
Pull the dampner off the input shaft.
