ist'nt there a rotor like about 300mm x 24mm with 35mm offset to mount at the backside of my hub ?
Is the 282,5 rotor of the carrera really the largest available with this mountig option ?

@doug: how can i contact George B. ?

There is not a short offset rotor from factory that will bolt up to the NA hub and clear the steering knuckle. A rotor hat has to be made to mount a Wilwood or Coleman rotor.

I will be re-visiting this mod soon, but to get a true bolt-on kit for the deeper 84-85.5 NA hubs. I'm not sure If I will use the 300x32mm rotor or the 309x32mm rotor

od ray of sunshine/words of encouragement to rally the troops in 3.... 2.... 1....

caliper **** is nice. unfortunately, it won't get the cat f_cked with all the endless wrenching,
withering/crusty electronics and snarky, interference motors breathing their last breaths.....

dragging the fleet of 944s away to oblivion....

jeeze, I didn't mean to kill all the good cheer....

still, the endless head gaskets, bent valves, grenaded clutches, no-starts (that fester), and spent rod bearings remind me of the flashes seen by astronomers around the world's observatories (and radio telescopes) when one of the supergiants lights up one of the nearby galactic disks.... marking the end of the line for another beloved 944 and leaving another traumatized owner thinking of happier times.

Xschop, I was looking through your CNC handiwork here and then your name clicked, you're the Yamaha XS bikes xschop! A lot of people on yamaha-triples.org would like to know if you still/will make more chain-drive conversions. They are awesome and I don't think anyone else is making them

Not for the XS11 or the triples. BTDT.

There is only one Vmax bolt-on chain drive in existence.....

OD: I'm sure there's a forum that specializes in chebbie engines in German bodies. Why don't you run along and find it?

Seriously. Let it go. This is getting really old really fast. You even acknowledge your thread crap in the first line of your post

I wonder how many 944/951's are actually on the road and their percentages from what #s the factory released. I bet the #s back up Odu's comments.

Whether they do or don't is not central to the discussion. This is a Porsche forum, where one would normally go to discuss items germane to German vehicles. I'm sure there are plenty of chebbie forums where one can discuss how much better a short block is v. some other engine, or what rods, valves, timing chains, ad nauseum, would be best for doing burnouts at the stop light. But, in this forum, I would expect the person talking about actual Porsche components could do so without hearing the same old crap, time, after time, after time, after time...

^^^ The same could be said for the number of 60's muscle cars left, fact is old cars die unless people spend lots of money taking care of them.

Even the new GT3's are all of the road.... Porsche is still producing $hitboxes that prematurely frag themselves. You can' t dog their calipers, trans, or AC, or steering since they outsource them.

idk xschop, my new 86 944 gave me a good 15 years of hard driving before i had to spend money on non-maintenence items. On my new 00 996 Ive only had to replace the ignition switch as a non-maint item in nearly the same timeframe.....

....oh and the RMS/IMS but that was more preventative and another saga.

I certainly wouldn't consider them $hitboxes.
