I like the look of the (empty) coin tray, but I lean my arm on the arm rest all the time so I stick with the factory arm rest. I took all the cassette holders out and the compartment becomes a large open space where I store stuff.

That's a 968 CS coin tray.
968 CS's adopted it from 944. My ex. '87 ROW 944 n/a had it from factory. 968 CS models had quite a lot 944 style parts, like door panels with manual mechanism and 944 clock instead of thermometer etc.

Armrest? These cars were supposed to come with an armrest?

I didn't get one! Porsche Motorsport ripped me off 24 years ago!

Yeah I lean my arm on my arm rest all the time. I remember when I first got the car it was so annoying cause I didn't have anywhere to rest my arm while driving. It's definitely a clean look, but I think it looks a little funky, I think a flush mounted flat panel would look better, but maybe that's just me. Side note: the whole hide your phone/iPod setup, always a good idea. +1
