My 924s got rear ended by a "distracted" driver today.
Sadly i have to report that my pride and joy was hit by a pontiac going 40mph today. I was turning left in a driveway and the driver didn't notice me until the last second. She swerved but still caught the back of the Twofa pretty hard. Im pretty sad about this, i've spent the last 3 years making this car my own and put a lot of time and money into it just to have it killed by a 20yr old girl that was likely texting or something. She got a ticket (i did not) and the claims are in but Im thinking my lovely Porsche is going to get totalled. The damage extends to the door latch, it got tweeked too, the door doesn't open very well now, it also pushed the trunk floor up on that side pretty good.
Its going to be a long week getting this all sorted out. She was insured with USAA so im hoping that i don't get screwed. This is one hell of a buzz kill

Are you OK? That kind of hit without any warning can be very painful.. If your neck hurts at all, hold off on signing away any rights to a claim.
I'd guess that is surely a total. If you have a lot into your drivetrain, there are plenty of cheap shells and builders around. I wouldn't try to fix that one, personally.

Im feeling alright, i saw her at the last second, so i was kinda ready. We will see how i feel in the morning, but i think ill be alright. I agree that its not worth fixing, its too bad, it really was a solid car. I am happy that i had added some late 944 buckets (red!) to it, the highback saved me as i planted my head on it right before impact. It really helped that she swerved, i didn't catch the full brunt of her vehicles energy. It didn't set off the airbag in her 2005 grand am either.
Ill buy it back and find another car to use the parts on. I loved my porsche, i don't think i want to be with out one

I've had 3 cars totalled out from under me. The first reaction is, by god I want to keep that car, it has been good to me, etc. In retrospect, I should have just taken the money and walked away, started over. Unless you are going to part it, just work on getting as much as you can out of them, including reimbursement for a rental, even if you have another vehicle.

Im going to part it, and use the good stuff for a new one I had just replaced all the power steering lines and the rack, had new cv's. New calipers and pads up front, turbo sways, the blue pelican tranny mounts. It was nice. Ill make the most of what i have and crush the shell when ive got all i can out of it.

sorry to hear this.
when you start to part it I may be interested in the main part of the spoiler. I have the sides already.
Again sorry to hear about another one of these things getting totalled. Glad you're OK though.
