Default I love my 944

Its the second week of ownership. I never thought a sport car can fit a full size road bike, a trainer,a set of golf club, a huge gym bag and laptop bag and a bunch of gear in this tiny little car. My buddy who drive a mini "suv" can't fit his bike in his back trunk. And my other buddies who drive a convertible can't even fit his golf club without giving up the passenger seat. I am impressed.

Love my car, work on it all the time... not cause it breaks down (expect the seized waterpump last year) but because i love the car and want it to be as perfect as possible!

I moved everything except my bed from upstate NY to DC in my car! Good Looking Car, Fun to drive, and NA's get 32mpg! Wooot Woo

I do get annoyed with it sometimes though of course... but that goes for Girls, Dogs, Jobs, and basically everything in life...

see, I love that my 951 has linen carpet, not only because I love the look, but also because it gives me an excuse to reject most potential cargo! Car is way more fun to drive with nothing in it..

went to a client's location 200 miles from here for training carrying 10 mid-tower PCs, flat screens, keyboards, and box 'o crap full of wires and junk. With my fat *** at the wheel had to be careful over railroad tracks.

For my it's the "while your in there" situation when something goes wrong.
and when something goes wrong its usually in a set of 3...

But good luck with it. you look after her and she'll look after you

undoubtedly something fairly expensive will break and the test of ownership will be if you are willing to pony up for fixing it and still love the car afterwards...

im into my car 10x the purchase price and its still my #1

Haha something will probably go wrong on you but don't worry, chances are the really expensive things won't happen (at least for me they didn't)

Oh.... Already fixed several problems within 2 weeks of ownership. I have a need-to-fix list grow faster than the rate I fix things. But I look at this car as a project, a particle one.

I have owned some semi-collector motorcycles that's been in the garage apart more than seeing the road. One of the bike have seen sunlight maybe 5-6 times during my 7 yrs ownership and cost me hundreds of hrs, plus parts $ that can almost buy a new bike. And its still in the garage... and I still love it. So I am getting used to project life and I doubt 944 is worse.

On the other hand, I checked my oil for the first time since I changed it in February; didn't need a drop. I haven't done anything but wash, wax, and drive it in the last 4 months. Everything works, even the A/C thank god. Once the big items are taken care of (belts, WP, and clutch) these are not necessarily any different than any other car. Plus I get 23 mpg around town with the A/C on, can't beat that.

PS -- I'm putting my '69 Bonneville together after being in boxes for the last 10 years. It sucks trying to find everything I squirreled away.

My car is at the point where it makes me prove my love with my wallet. Turbo, axle, oil pan gasket, etc all have failed in the last two months. I don't save reciepts for a reason.
