Default Which mounts for newer Radiator in 84?

Getting ready to order a new style radiator

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 944-106-031-03-M166

for my 84. I know that I need to order the new style hose. I want to replace the mounts while I'm in there, which ones to order? Early or late?

May I suggest you order the rigth radiator for your car which is the Behr-Hella, same for the hoses buy the (OE) one.Don't forget the all important clamps since the old one migth be on their way out.Like Spencer mention unless your mounts are bad leave them be.While you got the lower rad hose out migth be a good time to check your thermostat.

Where does one get the Behr-Hella, any links? (I'll google it also) The one on Pelican stated oem, didn't notice it was actually a Modine. All clamps and hoses are new (last summer) as well as water pump, t-stat, heater valve, etc (all OE). By new style hose, I meant the one needed to put a late Radiator in an early car.Original rad leaked at the tank (Crack), used replacement is leaking some where on the top left, looks like the seam. Lower mounts are dry rotted, upper are ok.

All I'm coming up with on a search for Behr is a radiator core. Need/want the whole radiator.

Heard good things about Vertex, so is that one a Behr? That one was my second choice, but I've never ordered from them before which is why I was going with Pelican.

I believe they are are SKU ,but I did buy one from them for my 83/944 ,it's a good quality radiator & never had any problem with it once install. That why I refer you to them, like I said over the years I bougth quiet a bit of parts from Vertex including their clutch kit /short shifter/windows regulators/Dino steering wheel & so on ,never once did I had to return any parts I just install them & never look back.

After my 2nd OEM early Rad failed in the early side tank plastic and my fits sealing the crappy plastic Fan Switch threads on the other side tank...IMHO the upgrade 85.5+ with the side tanks with added support ribs, & the brass insert at fan switch well worth it.

Fit was a direct drop in on my 1983 NA, the >1985.5 rad from Vertex I got fit right in exactly sized as older (2) OEMs I had previous. The 1 hose they note you need & sell is the formed one from expansion tank to the RH side tank port (where >1985.5 is a larger diameter there than <1985.5's. All others hoses the fit the old dual fans same mounts, was an easy swap

Link to my pictorial comparison
