Default I ask you oh great ones guide my beginner hands!

Starting problems of course so I have just got a 84 944, after driving it 523 miles to where i live (great drive) parked it drove around the next day and then it refused to start just gave up on me. so i had it tested alternator!! no started!! no battery!! haha tested all but alternator because after letting the car sit for two days the windows rolled down sterio came on car not starting!! i pulled the starter had it bench tested and it passed. i have front to back and no where dose it say "hey if your starter clicks and you can hear it spinning then this is what it is" so i ask all who are not yet tired of hearing about the great 84 944 not starting for help! please!

thank you

disconnect battery- climb under car, clean connections on starter, battery and all grounds. Clean the ground to the body near the battery box.

When you clean the main ground on the clutch bell housing stuff some rags into the open holes so nothing falls down into the clutch area.

+1^

I can vouch for that: I dropped one of those bolts into the bellhousing. Luckily it was while I was pulling the engine. That bolt would NOT have come out any other way.
