can you add a transmission cooler to a regular 5 speed transmission? 85.5 na

Yes, it has been done, using AN fittings, lines, and external electric pump and aftermarket cooler, only requires drilling and tapping one hole at the rear trans housing for the return, pickup at teh drain port using a metric to AN adapter.

You alternatively can add the factory setup however requires changes internally to the trans (differential pinion carier end plate of the factory setup contains the pump, and that pump is gear driven off a gear mounted to the side of the diferential).

I have an eletric pump and an external cooler on my S2 race car. I would not want that set up for a street car because the pump is vety loud and would be annoying.
