thank you! its the last house that i'll buy. i plan on living here forever. i also plan on putting up a shop near the parking area on the right side of the driveway. this is still a few years off though. we bought the house when the economy was down and it helped us save a lot of money. it appraised for $268,000 but we got it on a short sale for $180,000, which was what was owed on the house. deal of the century and i had to jump on it. we bid on the house the day we looked at it!

Did you ever get your defective rear shock replaced? I happen to have one Sachs OEM rear shock that I have no use for. It's new still in the box. It was for a 944S2. Not sure if they are the same.

i brought the shock back to the parts store and they ordered a new one in for me. they let me keep the bad one for some reason so its in the basement on my Porsche parts shelf.
from what i understand, the 85.2 and up 944 shocks have a larger mounting hole and will not work on the early cars. if it would work i would gladly buy it. i may still consider it, just to have a spare on the shelf for when i get a later build 944.

OK glad the store took care of that for you. I suppose I'll get around to posting the shock in the classifieds so that someone can put it to use. Until I do that, if anyone needs a new unused OEM shock for a 944S2 you know where to find me.

the sunroof on my car had been sanded down and primered before i purchased the car. yesterday i decided that i'd had enough of that and i removed the sunroof, removed the headliner from the sunroof and painted it. the paint isn't an exact match and who would expect a match from a rattle can. it turned out ok and i will reinstall it tonight or tomorrow night after work:

got the sunroof back in and its not a perfect match but better than bare fiberglass. also got the rearview mirror back on and the lower fender corners painted. pics as soon as i am able. might pull the car outside and take some pics. inside of the garage is not good for pics due to the poor natural lighting

thank you! the car needs painted something awful. the paint that's on the car that's good really shines nicely.

i appreciate that! its my little getaway, lol. any time i can head to the garage and relax and work on the 944 is time well spent! sometimes it takes the edge off of a hard day.
