I'm getting no tach bounce. That's the indicator pointing me to the engine speed sensor. That or the spacing of the sensor bracket given I had removed it recently when replacing the speed and reference sensors with a used pair I had on the shelf.

Well with the weather getting better I went out and got the car running again. I adjusted the speed/reference sensor bracket and the engine fired right up. I pulled the car in the garage and ensured the bracket and sensors were tight. I have a few more things that need done before it can be ready for daily driving. I should do the timing and balance belt sooner rather than later. Its been four years and I saw some cracking on the belt when looking through the inspection hole. I also need to install the rear speakers and weld the driver's seat mounting points. Two nuts popped through the metal and the seat is loose. Took a couple pics yesterday:

I'll be happy to take more pics of the engine bay and post them for you if you'd like. If you need help identifying where things go I have an early and a late 944 that I can send you pics of for reference.

Well after the slave cylinder on my 85.2 went bad and me deciding that I need to replace the slave and master cylinder as well as a few more parts, I have returned this car to full driving duty. The 85.2 will be down for a month I would guess while I await parts and replace the needed parts and I don't want to be without a 944 to drive, so this baby is returning to full daily driver status.

Installed the original wheels and tires and gave the car a wash:







Got the car pulled in the garage for an engien bay detailing and an oil change:

I have been driving the car to work every day and its been great to drive the car on a regular basis again. The worst part is the speedometer. It jumps up and down about 10 mph and clicks when doing so while driving. Its quite annoying. I believe the speedometer needs rebuilt. I installed a new cable in it a few years back but the speedo has been slowly degrading.

This summer has brought numerous miles on the early 85 and my youngest son Max really enjoys the cars. He's taken quite a liking to my Stone Grey early 85. We had it out Sunday and we had an enjoyable night out in the car. Took a few pics when we got home and wanted to share them. Its really amazing how cars can brings fathers and their sons closer:

Thank you very much! The car has honestly been great to me. I've had is for 5 years now and while it still needs paint and an oil leak taken care of, its been a great car. Its remarkable how reliable its been. Seems as long as its driven regularly then it doesn't exhibit any weird issues. The car just doesn't like to sit.

I don't see the black C4 or the Sunroof Delete 944 in your photos.

I traded the black C4 Corvette for my Guards Red 85.2. I'd do it again a million times over! The sunroof delete Copenhagen Blue 944 found a new home. There had been front end damage that was not repaired correctly and the core support was not secured properly. I just saw it as a very unsafe car for me or the kids so it was time to sell it. It was hard to sell the car but it was for the best. Took me long enough to get the car and had to watch it go as quickly as it came.

I replaced the void in my stable with an all original 91 Toyota MR2 that I bought from the original owner. I have ALL of the documentation to include the original purchase paperwork, warranty paperwork, Monroney sticker, all manuals, and a FULL service history from day 1. It was a good buy.
