Default Picking up Time Capsule Red 968 - need new wheel suggestions

Hey Guys - Picking up a red 968 coupe and want to swap out the wheels for something a little more aggressive. I was thinking black with Chrome lip - cups or? Any suggestions and or pictures would be much appreciated.

Ray

If it's a true time capsule, why not just use the wheels the Porsche designers chose?

Pics?

I was thinking the same thing. The 968 wheels are pretty cool. I refinished and put a set on my 944.

Well I am going to keep the wheels, but I have seen a few combo's that make the car look amazing.

As soon as I pick up the car I will post pics.

my favorites are Speedlines, SSRs or the 997 style wheel in 18"...

the first photo below are SSRs. the next photos are my silver ssr clones followed by a black one which would probably look better with black center caps. next, is an 18" 997 style wheel... http://www.car-parts-accessory.com/1...+Wheels+/3323/ , next, speedlines, and finally one more beautiful wheel on the 924 (forget what wheels they are but, i think the guy lives in iceland) that someone else can probably identify.

Schweet. I have a set of gently used (if you call two afternoons at high plains gentle) Kuhmos that would fit those wheels just right.

Don't get me wrong, I like a nice set of wheels as much as the next guy, but most 924, 944, 968's have been trashed or modified or both. There are so few existing really nice, original cars out there I just think it's a historical "duty" to keep it pristine and as original as possible when you do manage to come across a true time capsule.

i agree with you but i wouldnt be bothered by a stock pristine car with different wheels. he plans to keep the originals (smart choice)

When I first got my 968 a couple years ago the same idea as as RAY cross my mine ,so came on the forum & ask you guys opinion, well didn't take long like your saying SeaCay was told to keep them original.I did and I'm glad never look back once.Like Ray my 968 is also what you could call a time capsul with low mileage.

I may keep wheels stock - I do appreciate keep it true to form. If I got different wheels I would keep the OEM's. They only mod I am going to do is replace the stereo and bring it into the modern age - as I don't have any cassettes tape left.

very good points. and you also have the option of putting the old wheels up in the attic.

then install wider wheels for thrashing, scarring, hard driving and feeling the limits of the cars.

contact this guy and tell him you want 18s.

looks like prices on these wheels have come down.
