seat and dash covers..install advice
Well I have had my car for a few months and my goal for the car (1986 951) was to fix up the interior this year and do the body next year. So far I have been lucky and had no other major issues with the car.
The stock sport seats are in good shape but the brown leather is getting hard and starting to split.
The dash is cracked bad.
So I ordered some vinyl seat covers off ebay and a dash cover from classic 9..as well as a reflector kit for the cluster.
I got a quote of around 6-700$ to replace both seat covers and dash cover (after removing them from the car) Anyone have experiance doing these covers, I have changed seat covers a few years ago but they were on regular seats out of a GM, not Porsche sport seats.
Also while I have it all apart, is there anything else that would be sugested to check/replace while i am in there?
I also just fixed my clock last week so the interior should be all done after this...which is good because it is getting hard to hide the bill's from the wife.

I did my dash cover and while not perfect it came out very well. It really isn't that hard to do, just take your time and make as smooth a surface as possible prior to gluing the cover down.

I went the Classic 9 dashboard recover kit this past winter also. About 5-6 hours to remove, a couple hours to recover, and about 3 hours to put back in. Really not that bad of a job and it looks great.

I did it as well with my S2, did the upper/lower, center console, and arm rest all in leather. If I get off my lazy but I will post the pictures of the whole process. Alot of slow work, but not a bad job at all really.

Car has been down for a week...pulled the seats and dash..found a broken clip on my heater door which I hope fixes my no cold air issue!
I sent the seats and dash out to get recovered.had the steering wheel re coloured.it was a bit out of my comfort zone..they did a great job and today I re installed the dash and seats. The interior looks great!
I will try and get some pictures up this weekend!
I also replaced the reflectors on the cluster...holy crap there is light!
