The real value in cheap 944 is the track and giving up all hope of comfortable street driving. If you do that you can have a cheap track car. If you want it comfortable on the street it will either suck as a track car or be very expensive to manage both.
I'm too young to care about comfort . I think it'll be fine for street driving and the occasional track day as I've never done anything more than autocross
