Default crank sensors

So after putting a black wrap on my car I noticed my under hood temps have gone up. When I'm driving on a hot day my tachometer will drop off and go back up until it finially dies. Right away that makes me think something is wrong with the crank sensors. I poured some cold water on the sensors and it fired right up. I've done the dme temp sensor test and the crank sensors tests and they both passed. Should I buy new crank sensors?

Not sure, but if you do end up needing new sensors, I have two brand new OEM bosch ones. $60 a piece. If you're in Denver you can just pick up, no shipping.

Wouldn't be bad idea. My NA had a temp related issue with the reference sensors. When it was cold out it wouldn't rev over 1200 rpm or so off the bat and as the engine temp would go up I could rev it higher. So I would have to just sit idling until I could go to at least 3k. I ended up putting in some sensors from some kind of BMW because they were cheaper. Only difference was the wires were a little too long.

That looks really good. Was it hard to do?

Yes. Now that I learned some tricks I will definitely do it again after this stuff starts to look bad.

I'm guessing one of those tricks is to do the front bumper on the bench?

Do you have any photo's of the back of the car? My latest toy has some rust on the header panel and headlights, which means respraying the whole car with 27 year old red paint

I did the bumper off the car so I wouldn't have to bend down to do it. The tricks are soapy water and heat. Carefull with the heat though it will melt right through that stuff. I haven't finished the back yet but when I do I will post pics.

Can't wait to see them. It's looks easier and it would probably come out better than me trying to paint my car lol

Did you do a writeup on the wrap job that I've missed? Would you mind sharing a ballpark $ figure?

Thanks,

Tim

No I haven't done a write up but I can if cyou want me to. I got the vinyl for free cuz I have a friend who has a sticker business and he gave me his scrap. WWW.crawlorado.com he can make you any sticker. This wrap job is by no means perfect. I plan on doing it again now that I know how to do it. If you do the work yourself I think you will be in the 200-300 range and if you pay someone to do it, it will probably be a lot. And then you have to think about taking it off when its time.
