Great work here. No one has attempted really to get rid of the damn AFM.

Thanks. Getting rid of the 20+ year old AFM will give a nice performance boost! Additionally, our Tune we uses a standard GM 1bar MAP sensor and GM AIT. So if either needs replaced in the future, it will be easy to obtain and fairly inexpensive - unlike the AFM.

I really like what you're doing here, Rogue_ant! I see you're from Denver too. I'll be moving out to Ft. Collins for my PhD in August and am driving the 944 out while my gf tows our stuff in her Jeep :-p. How do these beasts run at altitude?

Thanks! Yep, Denver - expect a 15-20% performance drop up here. Turbo vehicles fair better, but are still down on power...

"So they are using a digital MAF and reprogramming the frequency response?"
Thats what the guy said. Didn't make aqny sense to me, but if he goes out of business or moves on to different products then his customers will be SOL if they have a hardware issue. Just another reason to go with Josh's product. I had asked about the MAF sensor in the first place b/c the price of the kit without would be $180 cheaper so I was looking for a p/n to source the sensor. Seems like a poor decision if you ask me.

wow! +1 on the AFM video. I'm definitely going to convert it after seeing that gem.

Also- I guess I need to get that N-tune now to counteract the altitude increase ;-p

Looking good! That AFM video is amazing.

Really looking forward to this SD tune setup. Will I have to get a 28 pin DME? or can I use my 24 pin?

I've put quite a few AFMs on my flowbench and they are a huge restriction!

On a Turbo car we see nearly a 10% average increase in power by removing the AFM!(no other tuning changes)
I expect to see a similar gain on the 944NA.

Yes, a 28pin DME is required (all of my Tunes require a 28pin DME).
The code that needs to be changed in order for Speed Density to work, needs the 28pin DME.

Looks good! If I still had my 924S daily driver, I'd send you an email to get on the waiting list
