I'm sure Constantine will correct me, but it's moulded rubber on the bearing insert and carrier. I'm running these bearings in my car right now and absolutely love them. They are a thing of beauty too - it's a shame they're where nobody can see them

Correct.

The bearing insert is a machined metal piece with rubber vulcanized onto it.

We re-designed the bearing units to use a larger bearing which let us design a much more robust bearing insert to hold onto the drive shaft within more rubber to quell some of the drive line vibrations.

And thanks for the kind words about our products Curt!

so Constantine, do you sell reman'd torque tubes with these wonderful bushings? i can hear noise/vibration from the torque tube when accelerating in first gear around corners. when i replace it or rebuild it, i want it done right. so i'll get the best parts or torque tube i can find.

Yes we do.

The intent when we set out to r&d better internals of 944 and 928 torque tubes (TTs) was to offer enthusiasts a better alternative than other rebuild methods, to include Porsche rebuilt TTs.

Pretty tall order but we believe we got it done.

Cheers,

I believe mine are worn, i have a "whining" noise under deacceleration, i also have 200,000 miles on my 87. Is there a real threat to not replacing them right away? I'm working on a timing belt and waterpump this weekend, and its getting ready for a new clutch in the near future.
