Default 968 Turbo Build

I am not a regular here guys, as my specialty is more alonfg the lines of Drag racing fabrication, but I was recently contracted to fabricate some items for a 944 with a 968 engine. Now being that I am not a Porsche specialist, I don't know all the details on the engine build. I do know that the base engine uses a 968 block that has been darton sleeved and stroked and built for high boost.
My portion of this build is to fabricate the hot and cold side of the turbo system as well as a custom intake that utilizes individual throttle bodies.
Below are some images of my progress thus far, i will update this thread as i make progress, which will probably be on a daily basis.
As of right now I have the majority of the intake complete, minus the upper plenum portion. I have mocked up my header and will be getting started on transferring my design to 321 stainless tomorrow.

Thanks for looking

Craig,
looks like a very professional build up. You have fabricated some real nice parts. Do you know what kind of brake booster setup your customer is going to use? Most likely original booster is too big to work with the plenum you are going to build.

Your work is beautiful! If only I had your shop... and your skills... and a bunch of free time...

I am curious, however, why did you elect to place the ITB's so far from the head? I'm sure you have good reason, I've just typically seen them right up against the port.

What type of HP #'s are you expecting?, stock turbo set up (In an article I read) claims 0-60 4.7 seconds
at some point I will be doing this 968 engine upgrade, might not do a turbo, but who knows.
keep us posted

Looks fantastic. Do you plan on making these parts available for sale?
Thanks for sharing.

Very nice work indeed. I'm surprised that there's no timing belt on that engine... don't accidentally turn the crankshaft!

They are going to be using an all in one Tilton setup that will all be under the dash. We went this route to free up some space for the upper plenum.

With the hood clearnace, this was my only option. Had it been a N/A build, then that would have been an option.

The shop I am doing the work for already has a 968 that is making 600 + so this one should be right in that range with the size of the turbo we are using.

Perhaps the hot side, but the intake is really a one off design.

I made some progress today on the header. I was able to get it all tacked together and ready to be finish welded. Next I will concentrate on the cross over pipe.

That looks real good. keep up the work!
I'm interested in the plenum design you'll come up with and how it will be made.
