Very true, skinny tires don't hook up, especially since this isn't a manual LSD. I just picked up the car and have only had it maybe a week. If I was keeping it, which I don't plan on at this point, I would swap the intake and the shave down the alternator and space the bottom of it til it fit and put on one of the red hoods that I do have. I am guessing that I would need to find a lower profile oil pan as the one in it now has about 6" of clearance from the road. It doesn't appear that there was a kit used in this conversion. The PO was telling me about something that he had done to help strengthen the auto trans but I wasn't paying close attention and was ready to get home. In the end, if it doesn't sell, I do what normally happens and part out the car. Didn't know of any other v8 swaps into an auto, any idea of who's it is?

hoods are overrated

odu, the truck intake is much taller than the corvette/fbody intake, also notice the alternator way up high

Yep, as sits, no spacers, I can fab an alternator bracket so that isn't an issue, I might need to take a look at .intakes I have a couple of complete rear and front suspension stuff from turbo's and NA, easy swap, I have complete turbo transaxles (no LSD thought right now), plenty of hoods and lower bumper covers. I would have to get rid of the front extra fans and put in a high output fan and improve the rad. ..... See, got caught up in it again. I love projects but the time isn't right. It is just fun though right now.

Stewart F. Wright from 944Hybrids board is the only other auto 948 I've seen. The drivetrain set-up is different on the Auto's. I believe he also incorporated a GM clutch disc that is constantly engaged. If it were my swap, I would build a converter and get rid of the unneccesary flywheel weight. Your's is the only other LS based truck engine swap I've seen complete as well. If it's a 5.3l then it is no joke if the compression #'s are good. I have 295's on the rears and can bust them loose easily in third gear. Cam and shaved Z06 heads are going in this weekend and then I know I'll need the Turbo trans next. GL with the sell.

PS. I am running the 944 NA radiator and a 160 degree Truck thermostat and factory fans...ZERO heating issues. You need a Moroso 20140 pan and mod the driver's side to clear the PS rack on the 944.....What are the headers on that?

It is a 5.3 Liter but His for sale sign said LS He told me and LT and I tried to look it up and guessed it as a vortec. Really don't know my chevy stuff. Yeah, didn't have much traction at any point when just playing. Any idea what type of intake will fit and help with the lowering just for my own info? Thanks again.

LS1 intake with billet fuel rails and you can even keep the 5.3 injectors. The heads are badass at 61cc chambers and I am getting excellent MPG's (avg @ 28-29 Hiway) and the CR ratio is fugly gas friendly

Drop the X-member 1" and use a TPC bump steer kit and that hood will close without cutting after the LS1 or LS6 intake is installed.

The LS1-6 intake will give you more top end power which is where the fun is at in this car. I can't imagine what your CV cages/races look like if you haven't braced the tranny.
How much does the 924 weigh?
