Took my 90 S2 Cab out for the first time over the weekend and everything was fine. Made two stops were I locked the doors and set the alarm. When getting back in after the second stop when I turned the key nothing happened. No crank. got out and relocked and unlocked the and unlocked the doors and after three of these cycles it fired up. when i got home I checked it again and everything was fine. does this sound like an alarm issue? If so how does does one by pass this thing to get the car started. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for anyone's help

I do not have an alarm. The only help is a couple of links:

Many others have had this issue.

was this a single-time occurrence? Was the alarm arming/disarming? were your lock buttons flashing?

I see why you'd suspect the alarm, but you'd have to rule out the ignition switch, too.

Tough to diagnose an intermittent problem...worse having one.

does the factory alarm disable the ignition?

When nothing happened and you cycled the ignition would the warning lights on the dash light up?

Alarms in general disable the starter circuit, but the accessory circuit is usually left alone. Just from my experience from installing them over the years...

I think the alarm does disable the ignition. the only light that came on were two light that said "Antilock" in the upper corners of the dash. Additionally the red lights on the lock buttons were blinking when they were depressed
