That is a money pit that has been beaten to death.
For less than you'll spend just getting that thing on the road and reliable you could buy one that already runs AND has decent paint.
What you are looking at there is a $500 parts car.

I can have it painted for free at my cousins shop, What apart from the body tells you its a money pit

the $500 you pay to buy it will become the cheapest thing you ever spend on it the whole time you own it. Plus its an Automatic which means diminished performance. I wish you luck and can appreciate your willingness to jump in on a project..
but are you buying it because its $500 or because you want a project or because ? ? ?

But that becomes more palatable if you can get it painted on the cheap, so maybe it is a deal for you.
I bought a disaster that I towed home too, so what the hell do I know?
Yes, it's my daily driver now, so it can be done. I painted it in my garage, and if I wasn't willing to make a paint booth and do that it wouldn't have been worth it.
EDIT: I missed the part where it's an automatic. Run away.

Sadly, I will agree with the last two comments... This car will cost you $10k in the next year or so.
Recently Said: All 944/924s are $10k cars... Spend it up front or while laying underneath it... My is close to $12k! yikes...
and lastly: Auto sucks
However if you buy it, We will support you fixing it! Keep us posted

These cars can be expensive, but not too bad if you can do two things:
1. Do most (preferably all) the work yourself.
2. Buy a parts car (if your space permits)
