why would a track car need a "prettier" interior and better HVAC?

i have had no issues with my electrical layout.

my car does quite well with the narrow body. there is also a documented build of a 951 powered 924s. he found no need for the extra rubber either.

minimal gains for a car that is going to weigh a little more and cost a lot more. diminishing returns, extra baggage, more expensive, less unique, call it what you want. i dont want it.

a 951 on an agressive diet will never get to the featherweight 924 figures. The 924 will fit stock 951 rubber (205/225) on 16" wheels everytime. You nor anyone else can state the advantage of late electrics over early...there is none. HVAC has the same capacity late or early.
Granted, some weight will transfer from the 951, but not enough to matter.
A 924S with 185 HP has approx. the same weight/power ratio as a stock 951(IIRC). Plug 200+ HP into a 924S and magic starts happening. After all, this is the blueprint that the CGT reads.
I think Doug is talking about more than an outwardly cosmetic recreation of a past Porsche, but pondering what assembly of modest parts equal an icon.

I saw a 2.0 914 for sale...decent car with all the normal problems. $3K. Budget a set of fuchs and flares, and a 3.0 SC motor; a fun car. But given the budget, a nice Boxster could be had. I like Boxsters.

Its a great idea!

Might just be my next project....

I miss my 931 based gts replica so

A white -86 951 with sunroof delete would be a good starting point.

Would definately switch to the old Square dash along with the scripted door sides...

Anybody done a dash change?? Maybe more common the other way around i guess...

Olli: where did your friend buy the kit with the oem looking gts rear badge?
Looks to be good quality!

Thanks!

Badge's quality is good because he made it himself from billet aluminium.Body kit is made from glassfibre
