Question Coolant leak with pictures! Head gasket or something else?

I noticed a small amount of coolant leaking from my 944S today. I am trying to figure out where it is leaking from. What would you say? Head gasket or the pipe above it that bolts onto the head that has some black rtv or something on it.(I didn't use rtv. It was some shop that it was taken too many years ago).

here are some pictures after I drove it for about ten minutes! Is there a coolant port right in that area on the head gasket?

Curil-T sealant? It doesn't look like a liquid. Could be wrong though.

Best way to find it is to get a pressure tester, like the one sold at Sears, and pump it up to 15psi or so. The leak will be as obvious as fox in a chicken coop. The silicon goo under the neck shouldn't be there -- what's up with that? Coolant travels well, so don't limit your search too close to that wet spot.

Pressure test, and check for leaks. from looking at your pic. your head gasket is failing.

Seeing as it is directly below the coolant neck for the head, I'm pretty sure there is coolant there. I agree with a pressure test of the coolant system. It will help you solve exactly where it's coming from.

Ok, I pressure tested the system. I put it at 16 psi and it stayed there and no leaks at where it was leaking before. I pulled the #1 spark plug and it was just as dirty as the others.

What do I do now?

I wonder if it is leaking only when the motor heats up and expands. Did you test it cold? Has the leak stopped completely now?

Careful with that. The heat will create its own pressure to add to what you pump in...
