Are the turbo hubs different? I guess I'll have to do a brake upgrade now anways.
Well I bought this:

Now to get it home. All the front suspension and wheels are supposed to be there but with no cross member, of course it isn’t together. For getting it on the trailer would you guys recommend jacking it up and putting a dolly under to front or picking up a used crossmember and putting the front end back together enough to roll on to the trailer on it’s own? I’m leaning toward the latter just for ease of unloading too when I get home.
How difficult would this be? I’ve never messed with the suspension on a 944 before and it’s been years since I owned my last one. I have installed a lift kit and lowered a few cars before among other thing. I’m pretty mechanically inclined. Just want to be prepared before I drive 6 hours to go get it.
Tools:
Jack
Jack Stands
Metric Socket Sets with 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drives
Maybe spring compressors just in case
I know I'll bring more stuff but can you guys think of anything specific that I'd need?

"This car is located at a storage facility in Garland Texas just outside Dallas. I purchased this car to build another race car but I simply do not have the time. The car has a clean Texas title and is in good condition. Guards Red with Black Interior and 16" phone dials. . I have never seen the car but do know it is complete less engine, front cross member and steering rack. Sorry, I do not know if it has a limited slip transmission. The car does have sport seats. A box of goodies such as injectors and I believe a Victor Reinz head gasket are in the car as I purchased these from the previous owner as well. I wish I could give you more details but I simply do not know."

Just realized...Springfield to Dallas - I'm impressed. I do this about once a year and thought I was the only nut that did this sort of craziness. Dallas is a hike though, we'll want to hear all about the fun...Bruce

500 miles each way for an engineless car youve never laid eyes on? More Power to you....Not I, free isnt cheap enough for me to bother that....would have to have some crazy special VIN....too many perfectly valid cars closer then that....Begs the question....

Now I just need to track down a cross member. I'm borrowing a friends trailer with winch and all. My trailer is made for an jeep with lift and likes to take the bottom off anything with less ground clearance than about 8 inches.
I might actually go to STL, pick up my friends car that needs work and tow it to Dallas and then pick my car up but we'll see. I'm sure I can fix her, an 03 Mitsubishi Lancer and needs new front brake pads and dics. I'd hate to make the trip twice even though Kelli is a hell of a cook.
